There was great anticipation in GAA clubs around the county this evening with players, coaches and supporters tuning to the 2023 championship draws.

Longwood's attention was firmly fixed on the Intermediate Football and Senior Hurling draws.

The footballers were drawn in Group C along with Walterstown, Nobber and Ballivor. The opening round will see the boys square up to Walterstown. A tough start but there are no easy games in championship.

Our senior hurlers already knew they would share a group with Kilmessan, Clann Na nGael, Dunderry, St Peter's Dunboyne and Blackhall Gaels but their opening round opponent was unknown before the draw. It turned out that Longwood will have to face St Peter's Dunboyne on day one of championship '23.

So lots to look forward to over the summer months. The players know their opponents and the hard work of preparation will start from tomorrow!
