Longwood's U13 Hurlers brought some much needed cheer when they squeezed past Boardsmill in this evening's league semi-final.
A scoreline of 2-5 to 2-3 was indicative of the talent on display from both teams. Despite the slippery conditions and rapidly fading light, both sets of players served up an exciting and entertaining contest. It was harsh on Boardsmill to lose out so narrowly but Longwood deserve enormous credit for their courage and perseverance when things seemed to be slipping away from them. They pressed relentlessly and finally got their reward; an injury time goal from Sean Hanlon Upton ultimately proving crucial.
Well done to all the players and their coaches.
The final takes place next Tuesday evening when we take on Kiltale on their home patch.
