The final group game of the 3rd Round of the Senior Football Championship takes place on Tuesday evening at 7.15 in Summerhill.
It represents another landmark in a historic season for Longwood GAA - our first senior championship campaign in over 70 years - as we tackle an experienced Moynalvey team.
Longwood have suffered two defeats in the championship to date; a heavy opening round loss to an impressive Ratoath and a heartbreaking reversal against Rathkenny in Round 2.
If the form book is to be believed then Moynalvey deserve to be favourites given that they defeated Rathkenny in the opening round of fixtures. But Longwood have made a habit of confounding the odds and facing up to seemingly impossible challenges over the past 12 months.
Injuries have taken a toll on our small pool of players, the majority of whom play football and hurling, but we can be sure that the boys who take to the field on Tuesday will carry the fight to the opposition and give every ounce of energy to the cause. We wish the players and management team the very best of luck.
It's only a short spin down the road so we ask that all supporters come out and cheer on the boys on Tuesday. They have certainly earned our support.
