Minor Hurling Summer League Final: Longwood/Killyon 2-18 Trim 0-20
The minor hurlers from Longwood and Killyon overcame perennial rivals Trim in an entertaining game on a beautiful Friday evening in Killyon.
The home side led for most of the contest and fully deserved their victory.
The entire team played well on the night but special mention must go to goalkeeper Ronan Comey who performed heroics between the posts, denying Trim on a number of occasions including a fantastic penalty save in the second half when the visitors were trying to claw their way back into the game.
Congratulations to all the players and mentors.
Next up is the big one - the Minor Hurling Championship. The opening round sees the boys travel to Athboy to take on Clann Na nGael on Wednesday evening.
