A Chairde,

Following the Covid-19 containment advice communicated today March 12th by the Irish Government and associated advisory bodies, we at Longwood GAA have made the decision to suspend ALL club activity until such time as the advisory period has been lifted. This decision has also been sanctioned by Meath GAA.

While the virus is not currently thought to present a significant threat to younger members of our club and community, there exists a considerable risk that by continuing our day to day club activities, we are failing in our civic responsibility to protect our more senior and medically vulnerable citizens.

We urge all our members to comply with recommendations made by the HSE which are available at:

https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/coronavirus.html

Longwood GAA club stand ready to help out anyone in our community who may need assistance during this time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and get in touch.

Your understanding and cooperation in addressing these unique and difficult circumstances is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Enda Dixon – Cathaoirleach – Longwood GAA

Darragh Maguire – Cathaoirleach – Longwood LGFA

Tracy Brady – Cathaoirleach – Longwood Juveniles
