Longwood's U21 footballers rebounded from a narrow opening round defeat last week, with a convincing victory against Blackhall Gaels.

The boys made light of the wet and windy conditions, playing some excellent football and taking some quality scores. All credit to the players and the management team of Vinny Byrne and Eoin Lynch who can look forward to the rest of the championship with renewed confidence.

Longwood: Paul Gill, Eoin Gaddren, Adam O'Brien (0-1), David McQuaid, Ross Kerrigan (0-1), Conor Molloy, Niall Mulvey, Harry Hogan (0-6), Jack Hickey, Evan Coyle (1-2), Gavin Griffith (1-2), Glen Brady (1-3), Thomas Coloe (1-5). Subs: Philip O'Loughlin for Hickey, Cathal Campbell for Griffith, Conor Maguire for Kerrigan.
