Longwood GAA supporters are certainly spoiled for choice this weekend. Many of our teams will take to the field and most of the games are either at home or within a short drive of the village.

First into action is our U11 Girls team who host St Ultan’s from Bohermeen in the U11 League. The game gets underway @ 10.00

At the same time our youngest footballers will make the journey to Ballinabrackey for a Football Go Games fixture.

A couple of hours later at midday, Longwood’s U13 hurlers will square up to Drumree in Round 5 of the U13 League. This fine young team have performed with tremendous credit in the league and we hope that home advantage will see them continue their winning run.

Saturday concludes with an U15 Football League fixture in which Longwood host league leaders Kilmainhamwood. Our boys had an excellent win in Moynalty during the week but Kilmainhamwood are sure to present a much stiffer challenge.

The highlight of the weekend arrives on Sunday when Longwood do battle with Senchalstown in a High Noon showdown. While there is no silverware on offer for the winners of this relegation play-off, the much-treasured prize of senior football in 2020 is sure to focus the minds of both sets of players. Longwood secured their place in the senior ranks just over a year ago on a magical day in Navan and, despite being underdogs on Sunday, we can be sure the boys will do everything in their power to retain their status.

All of the above fixtures can be found on www.longwoodgaa.com

Please come out and support our teams. All our players give tremendous service to our great club and they deserve your support.
