SHC  Group 2 - Round 5:   Longwood 0-20  Blackhall Gaels 1-17

Longwood completed the group stages of this year's senior hurling championship with a hard fought draw against a determined Blackhall Gaels team.  The game took place in Dunderry and those in attendance were given full value as both teams competed hard for every ball despite the fact the result was to make little difference to the final group standings.

Longwood led for much of the game but their opponents always kept within touching distance; this was to prove crucial in the closing minutes when a late free dropped in around the square before being scrambled to the net giving Blackhall the lead for the first time.  Longwood refused to panic and an injury time free from Anthony Healy tied the game up.

The final whistle sounded soon after and both teams could relatively satisfied with a share of the spoils.

Longwood move on to a quarter-final joust with a Kiltale team who are chasing their fifth consecutive senior title.  A massive challenge awaits.............
